Referral Program Policy
Program Overview
WelcomeOps offers a referral program that rewards eligible customers with a $60 USD bonus for each new customer they refer. This policy governs participation in the program, including eligibility, payout terms, and limitations.
The program is designed to reward referrals that result in a new, active WelcomeOps subscription. Referral bonuses are earned only when the referred customer's first invoice is paid in full.
Eligibility
To participate as a referrer, you must:
- Have an active WelcomeOps subscription in good standing.
- Not be in violation of any WelcomeOps policy, including the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Be an individual acting on behalf of your business. Employees and contractors of WelcomeOps are not eligible for referral payouts.
To qualify as a referred customer, the business must:
- Be a new customer who has never had a paid WelcomeOps subscription.
- Subscribe through the referrer's unique referral link.
- Complete checkout and have their first invoice paid in full.
How the Referral Bonus Works
Each eligible referrer receives a unique referral link visible in their account dashboard. When a new customer clicks that link and subscribes, WelcomeOps tracks the referral automatically. The bonus is earned once the referred customer's first invoice clears — typically within a few business days of signup.
The $60 bonus is paid per qualifying referred customer. There is no cap on the number of referrals a single account can earn during the program term, except as noted under the Founding Customer Bonus section below.
Payout Options and Timing
Referral bonuses may be paid in one of two ways:
- Cash: Paid via the same method the referrer uses for subscription payments (bank transfer or Stripe balance). Cash payouts are processed within 14 business days after the referred customer's first invoice clears.
- Account Credit: Applied as a credit to the referrer's next subscription invoice. Credits are applied automatically within 48 hours of the referred invoice clearing.
Referrers may choose their payout preference in their account settings. If no preference is set, the default is account credit.
All Referral Bonus Payouts Are Final
All referral bonus payouts are final and non-refundable. Once a bonus has been paid — whether as cash or account credit — WelcomeOps will not reverse, refund, or reimburse the bonus amount for any reason. This includes, but is not limited to, situations where the referred customer cancels their subscription, disputes a charge, or fails to continue their subscription beyond the first invoice. Referrers are encouraged to refer businesses they believe will benefit from the service long-term.
Self-Referral
Self-referral is permitted. A WelcomeOps customer may refer themselves using a separate email address and business entity. The bonus is earned if the second account's first invoice clears in full. The referrer must maintain an active subscription on their original account at the time the bonus is paid. Self-referral is intended for business owners who operate multiple distinct business entities, each of which can benefit from a separate WelcomeOps subscription.
Founding Customer Bonus Terms
During the founding customer period, WelcomeOps is offering a limited-time Founding Customer Bonus of $60 per referral for the first 60 qualifying referrals. A visible counter on the pricing page tracks how many slots remain. Once all 60 slots are claimed, the referral bonus amount may change. Founding Customer Bonus slots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis based on when the referred customer's first invoice clears, not when the referral link is shared or clicked.
Program Limitations and Fraud Prevention
WelcomeOps reserves the right to withhold or claw back referral bonuses in the following circumstances:
- Fraudulent, abusive, or gaming activity — including creating fake accounts, using temporary email addresses, referral link spamming, or any attempt to artificially inflate referral volume.
- Self-referral using the same business entity or payment method as the referrer's existing account.
- Referred customer violates WelcomeOps's Acceptable Use Policy or Terms of Service within 60 days of their first invoice.
- Technical errors, tracking failures, or missing referral attribution — WelcomeOps is not responsible for referrals that are not properly tracked due to ad blockers, cookie clearing, or referral link modification.
Tax Responsibilities
Referral bonuses may be considered taxable income. Referrers are responsible for reporting bonus amounts to the appropriate tax authorities as required by applicable law. WelcomeOps may issue tax forms (such as IRS Form 1099 in the United States) for referrers who earn $600 or more in a calendar year. By participating in the program, referrers agree to provide any tax information reasonably requested by WelcomeOps.
Program Modifications and Termination
WelcomeOps may modify, suspend, or terminate the referral program at any time and for any reason. Earned bonuses that have already qualified — where the referred customer's first invoice has cleared — will be honored even if the program is later modified or terminated. Unearned referral opportunities are subject to the program rules in effect at the time the referred customer subscribes.
Relationship to Other Policies
This Referral Program Policy supplements the WelcomeOps Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and Billing Policy. If there is a conflict between this policy and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service control.
